Silver Dagger: take the Jaguar Door branch.

By Field Notes · Checked October 23, 2026 · Full game · Source-based guide

THE SHORT ANSWER

The Silver Dagger is behind the Jaguar Door, opened with three different forged Key Pieces. Get the Hammer first, reach the basement forge branch and distinguish the access keys from the three pieces.[1][2]

Reach the forge branch

Marvin Tang’s October 15 walkthrough separates the Jaguar treasure door from prison access: break the basement bars near the main hall with the Hammer, use the forge, then follow the large-keyhole corridor. The Prison Key is in a separate chest; it is not a Jaguar Key Piece.[1]

Budget only the casts you still need

NPC Tips’ analysis of Steam build 25955406 gives 5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal per cast. The totals below are arithmetic from that recipe, not our measured resource drops.[2]

Do not include keys already cast in your shopping list. Compare the actual mold and door prompt before spending materials; similarly named keys have different destinations.

Check the three reported mold areas

  1. Search the room beside the oversized basement lock.
  2. Near the big smelter, climb the rubble and ladder to the upper room.
  3. Check the Iron Key side room, opposite the Prison Key chest.
  4. Carry each distinct mold to the big smelter, supply its fuel and metal, operate it and collect the result. Insert one of each Key Piece at the Jaguar Door.

These mold landmarks and the casting cost come from NPC Tips’ file analysis; it also draws on a launch walkthrough. They are not two independent playtests by this site. No insertion order or fixed material-spawn position is established here.[2]

Collecting, returning or replacing the Dagger?

DocNovak’s October 16 treasure post places the Silver Dagger behind the Jaguar Door. Tbar666’s October 17 return list points to its basement Iron Key room for the later treasure-return task. Those are player reports, not a combat-stat recommendation.[3][4]

If you already hold it and are stuck, compare the Small Key and overlooked prison stairs. If it vanished, start with the version-specific Catalogue recovery check before repeating every cast.

Full-game, launch-week route evidence, rechecked October 23. NPC Tips uses build 25955406; no site playtest, all-platform rollout or precise map coordinates are claimed. Demo door restrictions do not describe the full-game route.
