Rock piles: look for the goblin-cave explosives.

Players point to explosives in the goblin area, including a lead near the bottom of a pit and a relatively intact straight rail section. These reports offer search landmarks; the thread does not confirm a fixed pickup in every save.[1]
Use the cave landmarks together
- Check that the obstacle is a rock pile, rather than roots, goo or rusty bars.
- In the goblin cave, search the lower pit area near the straight tracks described by Salestax1.
- Fluffy also recalls a small rug between two rocks. Treat that as a tentative visual lead, not a guaranteed stack size or coordinate.
mordeelhuehue says picking up explosives unlocks a recipe for making more. This is a player claim in the same October 14–15 help thread, not a developer-confirmed unlock rule.[1]
What is still uncertain
One reply says “a stack of five” from memory, while the original poster says they had already searched several rock piles without finding it. No controlled pickup or recipe test resolves that discrepancy in this thread. This guide therefore omits a quantity and crafting ingredient list.
Single discussion, three helpers, no original-poster success confirmation. The search landmarks do not guarantee that the next rock pile can be cleared immediately.
Different barrier, different route
Use the Axe for roots, Pickaxe for goo or Hammer for rusty bars pages if the obstacle does not match.
