Follow the water, then look above it

1. Turn the wheel behind the large hall’s stairs. Use the upstairs wall spike and a rope to descend.
2. Below the first door, go left then right to the next wheel. Drain the passage; take the left branch and ladder to the pipes.
3. After the later wheel and swim, reach dry ground and turn back toward the rusty pipe. Climb it, crouch along it, and jump while crouched over the raised section.
4. Drop to the Hammer and equip it to break the rusty exit barrier.

Already found a Hammer, but need a spare?

NPC Tips’ release-file analysis lists a Workbench recipe of 3 Iron Rods and 3 Rocks, unlocked after picking up a Hammer. This is a secondary file-analysis claim checked October 15, not our crafting test. If the recipe is absent, it does not prove your lost tool has respawned.^[3]

Check the obstacle before spending more time

A key prompt is a different task from a rusty barrier. For yellow goo, follow the Pickaxe and Clay route; for roots, use the Axe route. For a rock pile, use the reported explosives search leads. The Hammer route does not establish a way to recover a tool already lost from your save.

Material: SINGLE_SOURCE for the release route. Earlier February player reports also describe sewer water and ceiling pipes, but do not count as a second release playthrough.^[2]
